Online Test Preparation: Occupational English Test (OET) for Nurses
Designed exclusively for healthcare professionals, the Occupational English Test (OET) is a specific pathway for nurses seeking professional registration and immigration. The test can be taken at home on a computer or at a test venue.
The OET is a measure of the English language skills required for nursing in a healthcare sector. A score of B is required in Listening, Reading, and Speaking sub-tests, while a C+ is necessary in Writing. Nurses must achieve a minimum score of 350 out of 500 to be accredited in a foreign country.
OET results can be used to obtain healthcare worker certification, a prerequisite for visa applications and nursing licenses. Recognized by CGFNS International, Inc. for VisaScreen®: Visa Credentials Assessment Service and by Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. for the Visa4Nurses Certificate, OET results can be used to apply for RN, LPN, and LVN Immigrant visas (EB-3 or Green Card). If your nursing education was in English, OET results might suffice for state license applications.
